Annie (pending) the Rabbit needs a home
In Dec 2017 MHRR pulled 6 rabbits from St. Landry Parish Animal Control. They had been abandoned and were in rough shape! 1 Mini Rex adult female & 6 lop mixes that appear to be less than a year old. They were named after characters in the movie "Its a Wonderful Life" - Bill, Clarence, Violet, Bailey, Annie, and Mary. These buns will get some TLC before getting spayed/neutered at the end of Dec. They were found all living together, but since arriving have been separated by gender. They can be adopted separately or in groups - they would make ideal companions for others since they are used to living with others. They are quickly learning the litterbox. This entire group is social and very food driven - they love their treats! Annie may be their mom as her large dewlap means she is probably at least a year old. She had horrible sores on her feet but now has fur growing back. Despite that, she has been quite a happy camper!
This pet is fostered in Baker, LA.
All MHRR rabbits are spayed or neutered and are now microchipped (previously tattoed with "MHR" in the ear). Adoption fees are $50 for single bunnies or $80 for already-paired rabbits. Adoption days are held at Petsmart on Millerville in Baton Rouge (see our website for dates) though we can also schedule appointments outside of those days.
